Producing pasture-raised poultry, eggs & heirloom vegetables

Located between Blue Mountain & South Mountain, in the rolling hills of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, Willow Brook Farm was first established in 1890 & came under our stewardship in 2021. We use regenerative & sustainable farming practices on 11 acres which includes an heirloom orchard, beehives & multiple vegetable, herb & fruit gardens.

Pasture Raised Poultry

Our birds are all raised either free range or rotationally grazed in “chicken tractors” that protect the birds from predators. We move them to fresh pasture around the farm every day which enriches their diet & fertilizes the land.

Eggs

Our laying flock consists of Plymouth Barred Rocks & Speckled Sussex hens. These are heritage breeds that produce large brown eggs. Our flock is free-range, getting most of their diet from the grasses & insects they forage on the farm, & are supplemented with non-GMO, locally sourced feed.

Vegetables

We grow many kinds of herbs & vegetables but are particularly passionate about our heirloom greens & tomatoes. We are particularly proud of our “Pap-Pap” tomatoes, handed down through generations, brought over on a boat from Italy, these cannot be found anywhere else.

Fruit

One of our first projects has been to establish a variety of heirloom fruit & berry plants on the farm. Our fruits include all-purpose and cider apples, peaches, pears, cherries, blueberries & blackberries with more berries to come in the future.
